Living Around

Mito AETs often find themselves longing for their homeland, be it the US, Australia, or Canada. Not that most don’t enjoy Mito and their Japanese experience. Sometimes we just dream of all the possibilities of places to live if or when we settle back in our country of origin. Mine is the US and recently Rachel and I discovered this nifty website that lends itself to dreaming about places to call home. It is called Find Your Spot (www.findyourspot.com). You take a 20 minute questionairre and answer questions about your personal interests and hobbies, regional and geographic interests, religious preferences, economic ability, etc. and in return get a list of 20-something cities and towns that might be of interest. Anyway, here it is. Use it for light-hearted discussion or real life planning.

I have included my (Rusty) top 10. Some were surprising and some were expected.

1. Salt Lake City, Utah (Never saw it coming but glad I could learn more about the place)
2. Denver, Colorado (Hoped this one would make the list-but maybe a bit chilly for my taste)
3. Norfolk, Virginia (About the size of Memphis but trades the muddy banks of the Mississippi for the sandy beaches of the Atlantic-a great new discovery-who’s with me?)
4. Ogden, Utah (I just can’t get past the word ‘Utah’)
5. Fort Collins, Colorado
6. Phoenix, Arizona (Could be fun but dag-nasty hot)
7. Provo-Orem, Utah (Dude, what’s up with all this Utah?)
8. Chesapeake-Virginia Beach, Virginia (Definitely a top choice)
9. Carlisle, Pennsylvania
10.Charlotte, North Carolina
(Worth looking into-not too big or small with stuff to do)
